2013 04 Apr 16 Stanley Park BW 29a

On June 13 1886 what was then Vancouver quickly burned to the ground thanks to an out of control land clearing brush fire that ... well ... got out of control. The fire became known as "The Great Vancouver Fire" and proved to be a moment that, fortunately, has not been repeated.

127 years later a meandering walk through Stanley Park's rhododendron garden, even in black and white, proves that the city has recovered quite well thank very much.
