2013 12 Dec 28 Gulf Island Sunset 01a
And yes ... I did compose this shot mostly with the aspect ratio of my Facebook cover photo in mind. 851 pixels wide and 315 pixels tall.
Makes me feel ... dirty ... but in a good way.
Weird.

My favorite of this series. Mid right is the murder of crows heading SE to Burnaby. Classic Vancouver fall day. Magic light more often than not. This time thanks to the eye of an arctic outflow.
Clear skies = cold nights.
Cloudy skies = wet nights.
West coast fall and winter.

The English Bay sailboats regroup to consider their next move against the cargo tankers.
With the arrival of the fourth tanker things had ... changed. And not for the better.

Beach Avenue in Vancouver's West End on our first real snow day.
A dump of nearly 1 cm of snow with overnight temperatures dipping down to near -5'c. Gasp.
Meanwhile, thanks to satellite data, we've discovered that the temperature in Antarctica can dip to -92'c.
Which raises a few big questions. Chief among them being at -92'c how many seconds would it take for a double tall peppermint mocha to freeze solid? Faster than a macchiato?
